Zaid Ibrahim's open letter to PM

From the Star

KUALA LUMPUR: The continued and arbitrary use of the Internal Security Act 1960 (ISA) in the face of public sentiment gives the impression the Government is oppressive and the ISA an instrument of oppressiveness.
“Its continued use does not bode well for a society that is struggling to find its place in the global arena. It does not bode well for the democracy that is so vital for us to develop sustainably,” said Senator Datuk Zaid Ibrahim on Tuesday in an open letter to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
